Secret Island
Once upon a time there was a sailor
called Manuela who loved the sea. She was sailing towards a secret island she
had heard about. The blue sky reflecting on the crystallized water, and that
salty smell of pure life. Manuela was friend of the dolphins, that swam following her boat. They were very playful and jumped around her. She sang for
them beautiful songs, and they replied cheerfully. Suddenly the dolphins
disappeared and she noticed something was different, the water was darker and
filled with little pieces of plastic. She looked up and saw and big pile of
trash floating, she had arrived to trash island. In her mind she had imagined a
paradise of trees, plants and sand, but it seemed that the secret island was
made of plastic bags, bottles, fishing nets, electronic devices, cardboard, and
more trash.
She decided to get as far away from
this island. Manuela couldn’t understand how that was possible. As she was
thinking this, she picked the water bottle she brought with her, drank from it
and threw the empty bottle to the ocean.
